Administrative Director Nursing, Surgical Services

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dynamic and strategic Administrative Director of Nursing for Surgical Services to join our partner, a leading medical center in Tucson, AZ. Position Overview

As the Administrative Director, you will be a critical member of the Market leadership team, working collaboratively to establish and execute service line growth strategies. Your primary responsibility will be to develop a strategically oriented, consumer-focused model that delivers outstanding patient outcomes and supports growth and access across the entire market. This role requires a blend of business acumen, clinical expertise, and strong collaborative skills to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning and Growth: Develop and execute a service line strategy that is integrated into the annual business plan. You will be responsible for identifying market insights and developing business cases to support capital investments, all with the goal of achieving a sustainable and competitively differentiated service model.

• Operational Leadership: Provide comprehensive oversight to ensure quality resources and asset utilization. You will drive operational plans and analyze results to ensure the service line meets its strategic goals.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work in and across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, ambulatory clinics, urgent care centers, and surgical centers, to achieve system-wide objectives. You will also collaborate with administrative leadership to develop and execute plans.

Qualifications

• Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.

  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or Healthcare.

• Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience in an acute care hospital, ambulatory center, or other healthcare-related organization is required.

  • Experience in physician relations, program development, and strategic planning is essential.

• Licenses/Certifications:

  • A current RN license in the state of residence or practice is required.
