Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our partner, a leading children's medical center in Spokane, WA. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional to play a vital role in a Children's Hospital float group, providing critical respiratory care across specialized units. We are offering a hiring bonus of up to $10,000 for eligible candidates, in addition to a fantastic benefits and compensation package that begins on your first day of employment.
As a member of the Respiratory Care float group, you will be responsible for providing expert care to a pediatric patient population across various high-acuity units, including the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit). This role requires a professional who is adaptable and skilled at managing a diverse range of respiratory needs, from the most fragile newborns to older children with complex conditions.
Manage and administer a variety of respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and chest physiotherapy.
Operate and maintain sophisticated respiratory equipment, such as mechanical ventilators, incubators, and monitoring systems.
Respond to codes and other critical situations, providing immediate and effective respiratory support.
Assess patient conditions and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other specialists to develop comprehensive care plans.
Educate patients' families on respiratory treatments and equipment to ensure a continuum of care.
Maintain meticulous patient records and documentation.
Education: Education to meet certification, license, or registration requirements.
Required Upon Hire:
A Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
A National Provider BLS from the American Heart Association.
Preferred:
Experience working with a pediatric patient population, particularly in NICU or PICU settings.
Additional certifications such as PALS or NRP.
