Respiratory Care Practitioner

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our partner, a leading children's medical center in Spokane, WA. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional to play a vital role in a Children's Hospital float group, providing critical respiratory care across specialized units. We are offering a hiring bonus of up to $10,000 for eligible candidates, in addition to a fantastic benefits and compensation package that begins on your first day of employment.

Position Overview

As a member of the Respiratory Care float group, you will be responsible for providing expert care to a pediatric patient population across various high-acuity units, including the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit). This role requires a professional who is adaptable and skilled at managing a diverse range of respiratory needs, from the most fragile newborns to older children with complex conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer a variety of respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and chest physiotherapy.

  • Operate and maintain sophisticated respiratory equipment, such as mechanical ventilators, incubators, and monitoring systems.

  • Respond to codes and other critical situations, providing immediate and effective respiratory support.

  • Assess patient conditions and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other specialists to develop comprehensive care plans.

  • Educate patients' families on respiratory treatments and equipment to ensure a continuum of care.

  • Maintain meticulous patient records and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Education to meet certification, license, or registration requirements.

  • Required Upon Hire:

    • A Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License.

    • A National Provider BLS from the American Heart Association.

  • Preferred:

    • Experience working with a pediatric patient population, particularly in NICU or PICU settings.

    • Additional certifications such as PALS or NRP.
