Schedule: Full-Time
Shifts: 2 Night Shifts Available

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) to join a high-performing hospital-based respiratory care team. This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner with expertise in critical care, emergency medicine, neonatal, and medical-surgical environments. The RRT will play a vital role in supporting patients across all age groups, helping them achieve optimal respiratory health in a collaborative, patient-centered setting.

Position Summary

The Respiratory Care Practitioner utilizes advanced clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and compassionate care to deliver respiratory therapy services in a variety of acute care settings. This includes providing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, supporting emergency interventions, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy to patients in critical care, emergency, neonatal, and medical-surgical units.

• Administer oxygen, aerosolized medications, ventilatory support, and other therapeutic modalities.

• Perform patient assessments and participate in individualized care planning.

• Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust therapy as needed.

• Provide education and support to patients and their families.

• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and accreditation standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy (approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education & Accreditation of the AMA).

• California Respiratory Care Practitioner License (upon hire).

• BLS certification – American Heart Association (upon hire).

• ACLS and PALS certifications – American Heart Association (within 90 days of hire).

• Minimum 2 years of hospital-based acute care experience (Critical Care, ED, Med-Surg, Telemetry, NICU, PACU, etc.).

• Strong interpersonal, technical, and clinical decision-making skills.
