Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to join our partner, a 100-bed acute care hospital in Sierra Vista, AZ. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and skilled professional to play a vital role in providing essential respiratory care and support to patients in a dynamic clinical setting.

Position Overview

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be a key member of the patient care team, responsible for preparing for and providing patient care, delivering routine therapy, and responding to codes and emergent calls. You will use your clinical expertise to assess patient conditions, deliver appropriate treatment, and monitor and document their progress. The role also includes important administrative functions related to equipment and supplies to ensure the department runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Assess patient conditions, deliver appropriate treatment, and respond to codes and emergent situations.

• Therapy and Monitoring: Deliver routine therapy as delegated by a therapist and monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions.

• Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and their families about their illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources.

• Equipment and Supply Management: Monitor, receive, stock, and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders. You will also be responsible for disassembling, cleaning, and sterilizing equipment, as well as performing preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a program of discipline.

• Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • A Certified Respiratory Care Therapist (CRT) certification is required.

  • A valid and current state board of respiratory care license is required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within one month of hire.

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required within six months of hire.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required within six months of hire.
