Surgery Center Administrator – Hilo, HI

Position Overview:

The Surgery Center Administrator plays a critical role in the successful operation of the facility, ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient operations, and financial stability. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of healthcare operations and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Daily Operations:
    • Oversee all aspects of the daily operations of the surgery center, including patient flow, staffing, scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., AAAHC, Medicare, OSHA).
  • Financial Management:
    • Monitor and manage the facility’s budget, including revenue and expenses.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
  • Human Resources Management:
    • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise surgery center staff.
    • Address employee concerns and resolve any personnel issues.
  • Quality Improvement:
    • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
    • Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Liaison and Communication:
    • Serve as a liaison between the Governing Board, the Medical Staff, and all departments of the facility.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Participate in strategic planning and business development initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum three years of experience in a top administrative or management position either in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or hospital surgical setting.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
