Surgery Center Administrator – Hilo, HI

Position Overview:
The Surgery Center Administrator plays a critical role in the successful operation of the facility, ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient operations, and financial stability. This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of healthcare operations and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Daily Operations:
- Oversee all aspects of the daily operations of the surgery center, including patient flow, staffing, scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and accreditation standards (e.g., AAAHC, Medicare, OSHA).
- Financial Management:
- Monitor and manage the facility’s budget, including revenue and expenses.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve financial performance.
- Human Resources Management:
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise surgery center staff.
- Address employee concerns and resolve any personnel issues.
- Quality Improvement:
- Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
- Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Liaison and Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between the Governing Board, the Medical Staff, and all departments of the facility.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other stakeholders.
- Strategic Planning:
- Participate in strategic planning and business development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum three years of experience in a top administrative or management position either in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) or hospital surgical setting.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
