Langlotz joins Sirona Medical board of directors

Radiology and imaging informatics luminary Curtis Langlotz, MD, PhD, has joined Sirona Medical's board of directors.

Langlotz is founder and director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine and Imaging (AIMI Center) at Stanford University Medical Center and immediate past president of the RSNA. He is also the author of The Radiology Report, a book on radiology reporting and innovation in the reporting process.

Late last year, Sirona secured $42 million in series C financing to scale its cloud-native radiology IT platform, Unify. Over 15 new practices have been added to the Unify platform in the past 12 months and usage has doubled quarter-on-quarter for five consecutive quarters, Sirona said. The company said it has raised a total of $108 million to date in order to advance its radiology operating system platform and scale customer service and support.
