Position Overview:

As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a crucial role in delivering precise and high-quality radiation therapy treatments to cancer patients. You will operate advanced linear accelerators and imaging equipment, collaborate closely with experienced radiation oncology professionals, and provide compassionate care and support to patients throughout their treatment journey. This role requires a strong understanding of radiation oncology principles, excellent technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety and well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately deliver prescribed doses of radiation therapy treatments to patients according to the treatment plan developed by the Radiation Oncologist and Dosimetrist.
• Operate and perform quality assurance checks on advanced radiation therapy equipment (e.g., linear accelerator, CT simulator), ensuring accuracy, safety, and optimal performance.
• Monitor patients closely during treatment sessions for any adverse reactions or issues, providing appropriate support and intervention.
• Provide clear and compassionate education to patients and their families regarding the treatment process, potential side effects, and self-care measures.
• Collaborate effectively with the entire radiation oncology team (physician, physicist, dosimetrist, nurses) to ensure seamless coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of all treatment parameters, patient care activities, and relevant observations in the electronic medical record and treatment management system.
• Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, radiation protection guidelines (ALARA principles), and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Certification: ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (ARRT(T)) (Required).
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience working as a Radiation Therapist (Required); Experience in an acute care hospital setting (Preferred).
• Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program (Required).
• Licensure: Idaho State license (or eligibility) may be required.
