Radiation Therapist – R.T.(R)(T)(ARRT)

Virtus Healthcare Staffing seeks a dedicated Radiation Therapist – R.T.(R)(T)(ARRT) to join our partner, a medical center in Glenwood Springs, CO.

Deliver Advanced Radiation Therapy in a State-of-the-Art Facility

As a Radiation Therapist, you will administer ionizing radiation to treat diseases, utilizing advanced technology and techniques in a comprehensive cancer care setting.

Comprehensive Description:

As a member of the radiation oncology team, you will administer ionizing radiation for the purpose of treating diseases. You will demonstrate a general understanding of anatomy and physiology pathology, medical terminology, oncology, radiobiology, radiation physics, radiation oncology techniques, radiation safety, and the psychosocial aspects of cancer. This position requires the ability to interpret and deliver treatments per plans and relevant treatment protocols.

The facility is equipped with one Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator, an Elekta Flexitron HDR afterloader, a superficial x-ray unit, and a departmental CT simulation with The Client capabilities. The clinical scope of practice is wide, with treatments and techniques including VMAT, SRS, SBRT, DIBH, HDR brachytherapy, LDR brachytherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals.

General Objectives:

  • Administer ionizing radiation for the purpose of treating diseases.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of relevant medical and scientific principles.
  • Work collaboratively with the radiation oncology team.

Education:

  • Successful completion of a radiation therapy training program.
  • R.T. (T) certification and maintaining certification.

Experience:

  • Experience in the area of Radiation Oncology is preferred but not required.
  • All levels of experience are considered for this position.

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations pertaining to radiation therapy.
  • Ability to interpret and deliver treatments per plans and relevant treatment protocols.
  • Experience with modern radiation therapy delivery systems, imaging systems, and electronic medical records.
  • Experience with the following techniques: Breath Hold, SRS and SBRT, Superficial and HDR.
  • Working knowledge of Mosaiq highly preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
